I'm at a place where I need to get a boxed curriculum for my (going into) 9th grader. I will supplement with real books and doing history with him TWTM and listening to SOTW.
But, due to fostering and adopting, we feel like he needs some more structure and something he can do on his own, at least for a time.
I was looking at A.C.E. and AO Lifepacs. He is more visual, so LightUnits from CLE won't work well for him.
Thanks!

It covers the same material as life-pacs but is MUCH easier to use! It is self grading for the most part and has videos, etc. that explain things to the child. Also you can get a whole year of all your subjects for 259.00 during the yearly sale. Just my two cents worth!

Yes we have . But in our case we are getting tired of having a boxed curriculum . In your case it maybe a good thing . If your going to go with A/O . I would try their SOS ( switched on Schoolhouse for him ) . I'm not a big fan of Alpha Omega , we tried it one year . Too boring and dry .
CLE is actually more enjoyable to use . Have you looked into ACE if your wanting a workbook curriculum ?

I'm not familiar w/ it as my youngest is entering 7th, but from what I've heard on the MFW boards...it's really good AND designed to be done independently by the student. Big plus for people like me who already feel pulled in 18 different directions at any given moment. www.mfwbooks.com

Personally, I'd stay away from SOS and AO. I don't think the material is well done. But that's my opinion.
If I were pushed and needed something, I'd look at Bob Jones Homesat.
