Would the Practice Makes Perfect Series along with a textbook be a good enough study of a language?

I will be studying Italian. And my textbook will be Oggi In Italia.

I took Italian I and Italian II, but both my teachers weren't good, so I would say I am at a mix of Italian I/Italian II.

I will also be reading Italian books and translating. I will also be using Tell Me More.

Will the mixture of Practice Makes Perfect/Tell Me More/Oggi In Italia be enough for an Italian II/Italian III course?

Hello Stephanie,

I know this is a really old post but I thought I would share what we (as a family) are attempting.

I am an English speaking mother (monolingual) married to a Sicilian American who speaks a dialect of Italian but doesn't see the children enough (work related) to attempt OPOL. I am attempting to learn Italian, (as suggested by my FIL) on my own so that I can then teach my children. A few of my older ones will learn along with me.

We will be using the following:

1) Main Source - Living Languages Italian (http://www.randomhouse.com/livinglanguage/languagecourses.html) by Random House
They have many programs to choose with books, CDs, video, etc.

2) Supplemental - Practice Makes Perfect Italian Series (http://www.amazon.com/Practice-Makes-Perfect-Complete-Italian/dp/0071603670)
We plan on starting these as soon as we have the beginner level finished.

So if you are still looking into Italian, I hope that helped.
