Walk two moons by Sharon Creech

My 12 yr old ds and I just started reading this. It seemed to have some great reviews at Amazon but what do you all think about it? Sonlight seems to have it as part of their core 300(ages 14-18) , so are there 'iffy' bits in it?

I loved this book - I used it as part of my reading curriculum when I taught 5th grade; I think it is fine for a 12yo. I recommend Sharon Creech to everyone. She is one of my favorite authors :)

My daughter and I both loved it, but I really think it is a better mother daughter read, than a read aloud. We actually listened to it on tape. It had some subject matter that I wanted to be able to pause and discuss (though it's been a while since I read it.) It was GREAT though...
