Has anyone used SRA reading labs at home?

My son used the SRA reading labs in his private school and loved them and progressed very well with his reading fluency and comprehension. I'd love to get his current level set for home, but they are SO expensive!!!

If you're familiar with them, do you know of a similar system that might work for him?

I use these with both of my children. I saw them at the 1/2 price book store for $20.00, I think. I told a friend I was going to buy these and she had a set to give to me for free. Ask around to see if you know anyone who owns these already, and may be willing to share.
