View Full Version : Dd-3, just asked, "How did Jesus make people?"- (obviously Christian content inside)

Okie dokie. So I gave her a simplified Creation story version, hoping that would suffice. But, alas, it did not. She looked at me and asked how do you make babies? With my usual parenting wisdom I said, "Would you like me to buy a book that tells the story of how babies are made?", and of course she said, "Yes".
So, please give me your best books for the 3-5 year old age range. It must be Christian. Oh, help. :svengo:
I guess this means that soon she will no longer be using the word "junk" for Daddy's privates. It's a long story that started in China.:D

Junk! Ha! No advice. I waited as long as I could and then had the talk with my then dd13. I ended up drawing pictures that were supposed to look like a male organ but ended up looking like atomic bombs. Like every HSing mom, I turned it into a history/anatomy lesson. Minus the fine art.:o

:smilielol5: I'm dyin' laughin' at this. This is hysterical!

As far as books, I know there is a great series but I don't know the name of it. Rainbow used to carry it, and it had 3 or 4 books in the series that introduced a bit more at each level.

You can borrow the JuJuText for this. (ha!) My 6 year and 8 year olds are still noodling Question 2. The older boys (13 and 11) have been through the whole curriculum. ;)

It goes like this...

First question, somewhere between 3-5y: How do you make babies?
When God knows that it is time for a new baby to come into our family, he causes it to grow in my womb. Isn't that wonderful?

Second question, somewhere between 4-8y: But how?
God takes a little part from Dad and a little part from me and uses them to make a new person. That's why you have Dad's nose and Mom's hair, etc. Isn't that wonderful?

The real "I want to know the real nitty gritty, play-by-play of how babies are made" question, somewhere between 7-10y: But how do the two parts get IN THERE?
~gift of sex, reserved for marriage, enjoyable and procreative, this is exactly what happens~ finish with "Isn't that wonderful?" ;)

In my experience, at 3, this type of question will be satisfied with a really simple answer. And, if not, she can always come back and ask for more information. Good luck!

:smilielol5: Hands down, the funniest thing that I have read today.
