EKS ..how long did this program take each day? I read in one review that the mom spent almost 5 hours a day with it. Would you be able to share how you use this program and how severe your child's issues were?
Thanks,
Virginia

You can also search the archives. There used to be a woman on here who posted as Nancy and later as Claire who was very knowledgeable about it. There might still be a couple posts accessible through this search engine. If you can google audiblox and WTM and maybe the name Claire, you might be able to access the old boards.

Nancy and Claire are the same person! I always thought they seemed remarkably alike.

We spent 30 minutes per day with it for six months. I think the recommendation was to spend 60 minutes for at least a year.

My son went from haltingly and painfully sounding out every word to sight reading in the space of a few months. His fluency jumped by two grade levels in that time and he started reading grade level material for pleasure.

As for how severe his issues were, it's hard to say because he is twice exceptional (gifted with learning disabilities). I'm guessing, based on how his brother is doing academically at the age he was at the time we used Audiblox that his reading and writing were being depressed by about 5 grade levels and his math was depressed by about 2 grade levels. They have similar IQs and similar score profiles, but the younger one doesn't have LDs.

I don't know that for 100% sure. Someone else posted that once long ago and they certainly wrote in the same "voice" and had the same opinions...

We used it for 8-9 months, one hour a day - 5 days a week. I saw improvements in lots of areas (short term memory, long term memory, read comprehension).
