Hi, this is my first post here in this section (i think:))

I was wondering where I can order Das Neue Deutschmobil? And does anyone know where I can find a sample page?

TIA :)

Hi!

I am also going to order Das neue Deutschmobil this month. The only place I have seen it is www.continentalbooks.com (http://www.continentalbooks.com). I think the textbook was 40 bucks and then there was a workbook that went along with the text. Also, you already need to be a German speaker to be able to teach that particular program (but you probably already know that).

So far, I can NOT find a sample anywhere. This is a huge bummer because I'm just buying this program (which is expensive) off the reviews of other people. I have no idea how it's formatted or what material the lessons cover in the first text, etc. I'm sure it's fine, but it always feels risky when you can't see it first.

On a positive note, it did get a lot of great reviews...

If you find out more info, let me know! If I end up buying it this week, I'll know a lot more about it! :tongue_smilie:

Here's the teacher hand book that goes with the third level.

A few years ago, you could see several pages on the Klett.de website, but I couldn't find Das Neue Deutschmobil on their website at all today. I wonder if it's been replaced.

Their Greek website still has it:

Hi, thanks for replying. Continentalbooks is where I've seen it too, I'm not sure how to order from there though. Do you have to call to place an order?
I do speak German fluently, my mother is German. It's been hard for me to try to teach my children on my own. It just always seems easier to just speak English since everyone else around me speaks it. I'm hoping that by getting the Deutschmobil, my kids can get started on learning to speak German.

I'll definitely let you know if I find out more about the program :)

It's still there (they just came out with a new edition about a year ago). Here's a link (http://www.klett.de/sixcms/list.php?page=suche&modul=produktdetail&isbn=3-12-676104-6) to the page for level 1, and there are a number of "Probeseiten" on the right you can see. The sample pages are from the text; the workbook is black & white. You definitely need both text & workbook - the good news is that the CD is now included with the text.

You could also order from International Book Import Service (IBIS). They will charge you the actual cost of the book, plus US postage. It's usually much cheaper than Continental Books. Here's a link:

There's nothing impressive on the site, however. I've ordered quite a bit from them, though. They keep a lot of Klett items in stock, but can also order things from Germany if it's an in-print item. You'll pay the actual cost of the book, and then postage from them (in Tennesse, I think).

The only drawback is that you can't browse their site; but you can always look at Klett online, or search through amazon.de to find what you want.

I ordered the teacher text from Abebooks.

The books are good for my 9 yr old but not so for my 6 yr old. Too much writing for him.

That sounds right, since the Sat. School uses them for 3rd-4th grade.

For 1st grade, they use the Kunterbunt Fibel (http://www.klett.de/sixcms/list.php?page=titelfamilie&titelfamilie=Kunterbunt - Neubearbeitung&modul=produktuebersicht&productview=388855).
