So many people have been worrying about their children's problems with spelling, handwriting, and writing longer pieces. Since my own dysgraphic child is now, at fourteen, emerging on the other side, and since I've talked with a number of people -- professionals, therapists, friends -- about dysgraphia over the years, I've written a three-part guest entry for SWB's education blog. I hope it will be useful for some of the people who have been asking about spelling, hand pain, writing legibility, and problems with writing longer essays.

I really hope that you post when the next installment is up, or I will have to find a way to sub to the WTM blog.

KarenAnne, every time I see one of your posts I always seem to find a nugget I can relate to, a curriculum suggestion that is just perfect, or an insight that that helps me to reframe my perspective. Seriously. I want you to know that the contributions that you make to this board really are touching lives. My dc is just 5, and I am learning about homeschooling and his special needs as we go. It's overwhelming at times, so any help along the way is so appreciated!
Anyway, THANK YOU for the post on dysgraphia. We struggle mightily with handwriting over here. I'm looking forward to reading what you have to say about it.
