I miss my dh. He is on a business trip to China for the week. I hate having him gone. None of us can sleep. Our dog even acts differently when he is gone. Besides that it's supposed to storm bad tomorrow and tomorrow night and I am the biggest baby when it comes to storms.
Ok, now I have to go back to my brave mom face so that my kids won't know I'm upset.

Awww, I'm sorry. It is hard when they travel, isn't it? I always hate that too. I am a chicken with storms too. Try to do some fun things with the kids to take your mind off things.:grouphug:

Mine is leaving tomorrow for a week, and then may have to leave again. Ugh. Sorry you're gonna have to "weather" the storms without him ( ;) )
At least I'm "used to it" though, I think it's harder when it's not the "norm"- I know it's much harder for me when he switches from shore duty to sea duty, Blech.

:grouphug: Me too. Dh comes home tomorrow. It's so much easier when I'm the one gone. I miss him terribly then, too, but at least I'm occupied with more than just thoughts about missing him!

((hugs)) I absolutely hate when my husband is out of town. I feel like a huge part of me is missing and I almost don't know what to do with myself because many of the things I do in a day is done out of love for him.
I hope your week passes quickly and that you have plenty to do to keep your mind busy.

Oh, I know how you feel. I really don't like it when dh has to travel for work. I always miss him terribly, and I find it hard to sleep at night, as well. And I, too, try to put on the brave Mama face because dd used to miss him so much that she would cry at night. She's really a daddy's girl. I try to keep us really busy with as many activities, errands, or outings as I can to keep our mind occupied. I hope the time passes quickly for you until he returns!

I can so relate. I hate it when my husband is gone. I like the personal space for a few hours, but then I want him home at bedtime!

Sorry DH is out of the country. It can get lonely, and scary when nasty weather enters the picture.
My DH travels extensively (gave up flying and ironically travels more than he would as a pilot ), so we "fly solo" often. Feel free to commiserate and seek virtual hugs. A few things I do when DH is gone: sleep with extra pillows or let my kiddos hog the beg; weather alert in room at night when anticipating storms; treat ourselves to a nighttime movie and have a pajama party (we've done this several times in our 'tornado room' last year).
Lots of hugs--make sure DH brings back some fun little trinkets for everyone. Olympics are coming up, so maybe he can get something to represent the event.
ETA: DH will be in Europe for two weeks in April and I'm dreading this. He's seldom gone for more than 5 consecutive days. Just KNOW we'll get spring storms while he's trekking through Paris and Prague. (bets, anyone? LOL)

I agree. It's much harder when he's been in a job that keeps him home for a long time and then switches to a job where he's away a lot. :grouphug: for those missing their loved ones.
