Came across a Peter Fox music video with upbeat music and sent it to my oldest who is taking German at the university. Now my other kids are listening to his songs. I know no German. Any opinions on his lyrics? Songs we should avoid?

Link? I'll admit to being totally out of the loop with contemporary German singers (okay, almost all contemporary singers in any lanugage...)

OTOH, I was living in Germany during the Neue deutsche Welle and can still probably sing all the words to Nena's 99 Luftballons... :blush:

Nah - it's all pretty tame. Well, except for Der Letzte Tag - that song is about what people would do if it were the last day on earth, and, um, well, you can imagine a few things from there...

This is the song that I first came across - Schuttel Deinen Speck (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m--y0fC59aU). (sorry, I don't know how to do an umlaut)

I seriously just spit out my water laughing out loud at the lyrics. However, not, um, something I'd want my kids singing.

I just finally got a chance to look at these... did you see the Smurf version? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU6V5o2flVY&NR=1) :lol: He he... these are pretty funny videos..
