I have noticed lots of you choose R&S over Abeka. I chose Abeka because it goes up so high in high school. I now notice that spiraling may not be working for my son. He needs some repitition but it is over kill. Can you share with me why you chose something other than Abeka? What you chose over Abeka? If you use Abeka how do you like it if you have been using it for more than a year.

R&S grammar builds upon itself every year, so there's a lot of review built into it also, but I think that is the strength of this program. My boys know their grammar. They don't even have to think about it. If we are working in Latin or Greek with predicate nouns, they know what it is and why it's in the nominative case; all they have to do is access their Latin/Greek vocabulary at that point. I've also seen their writing improve in CW as they become more grounded in grammar. I haven't seen another program that teaches diagramming as well as R&S. Their program is thorough, challenging, and well-written.
I've never been a fan of ABeka (just my personal opinion). TWTM recommended R&S; I tried it, liked it, and have no plans to change because of the success I've seen with my boys. We started in R&S 3; my oldest will go into R&S 7 next year, and we will continue through R&S 8.

I used Abeka A,B,C and I, II, III with my older son and liked it. I think there's plenty of repitition in there. You cover all the parts of speech every year. I've begun the series again with my younger son this year and still like it,
