I have another GT child.
Whenever I answer questions they are always about my DS.
I do have an older child who is identified as GT, too. However, she has denied her abilities and has chosen to 'go to the dark side' and be normal. If we even mention the fact that she is smart/gifted...:tongue_smilie:
It makes me sad.

Sounds exactly like my ps HG/T DD16. She has put an enormous amount of effort into "going stealth" - her term for pretending to be as normal as possible and as completely un-nerdy as she can get. She is an amazing "social chameleon" - I'm in awe of how she can change herself to fit the social situation. I wish often that I had her social skills.

I've noticed lately that my little one has amazing retention. I always answer questions on here in regards to my older son because his smarts are more "showy". My 7yo though is zipping through math and does much of it in his head. He never needs to be shown a math concept twice. His reading is slow though.
I guess his acceleration isn't as amazing to me because I've BTDT. Now that I realize it, I make an effort to appreciate him.

What gets me is that people tend to notice and praise two of my children who are more overtly hg/pg, whereas my other dd is totally ignored by people. She is not "stealth" about it, but people overlook her because she is vastly different than my other two in how her giftedness presents itself. She is VSL like her daddy and has a brilliant mind, but she doesn't manifest it like her siblings do.
