I am wondering if I will confuse my dd8. We will be starting PL in the fall, but she may also be doing a beginning Spanish class at our co-op. Should I just pick one or the other??

It hasn't been too confusing here, but I'm not sure how old your child is.
Ds started Rosetta Stone Spanish in 3rd grade, and Latin in 4th. Now he's in 6th grade and we're adding in So You Really Want To Learn Spanish. Next year, he wants to tackle Gereman.
I'd just try to start one at a time, if possible. Latin one year, add Language #2 the following year, etc. If that's not possible, I'd try to start Latin in the summer, so that you're a good way into it when Spanish at the co-op starts.

I've think it's recommended that you do 2 years of Latin before you begin another foreign language, but we started our boys with Latin & Greek when they were in the 2nd & 3rd grade. So far, so good. We've had no problems doing this, and they are very well grounded in both languages.
We've done Spanish from the beginning, and now are adding Latin. Periodically there's a mixup, but it's really not a big deal IMHO. Most of the time they keep the languages separate, in fact sometimes my oldest corrects me when I pronounce Latin like Spanish!

There's been no confusion here. I think it might be confusing to start French and Spanish simultaneously. I'm 25 years past any French instruction and I still occasionally stumble over el/le.

Dd 12 is doing both, and seems to have no problem. She wants to start Greek soon.

In my linguistics class in college, they said that a child, although I think they were talking about a baby/toddler, could learn up to 3 languages at a time without confusing them. I'd do both at once and see how it works. Young children learn languages so much quicker and easier then us adults.

Thanks everyone,I am going to go ahead and do both. Since the Spanish is just a once/week intro (mainly for exposure). I think it will be fine!
I appreciate your comments!
