I am looking for a website with a good read aloud book list. I would love a list that is broken up by age groups. I have a 3 and a 4 year old. I have having reading books suggested in Home Learning Year by Year and we read just about everything suggested for the ages.

I pull ideas from several sources:
The 1000 Good Books List: http://www.classical-homeschooling.org/celoop/1000.html (I love the picture book section for your kids' ages)
The book Books That Build Character has some good ones, like Dogger
The Sonlight Catalog
VP Catalog
Ambleside Online http://www.amblesideonline.org/00.shtml (year 0 for your kids)

I was going to link the 1000 Good Books List, but Ali already did, so I'll just have to second that recommendation.

A couple more I forgot:

The Rainbow Resource Catalog has a page with all of the Let's Read and Find Out science books. I used to use that list to find titles in our library.

Also used the list for FIAR books in the same manner.

You've gotten some great recommendations. Another catalog that I like is the Lifetime Books and Gifts Catalog. It gives great recommendations for books and tells the age level they are good for. Here is a link to their website:

Once you become familar with what is out there and what the major curriculums use, you will fine tune your ability to pick quality, worthwhile books.
