I'm sick of housework

yeah, who isn't. I just can't get motivated in that department lately. I manage to keep the dishes done and we still have stuff to wear. Beyond that, there isn't a lot of cleaning going on these days. How do I get out of this rut!?

I'm not sick of housework. I'm sick of noisy kids making a mess of what I just cleaned!!! :rolleyes: My dh is taking all three boys camping in three weeks for 5 days. I'm so excited!!! I'm going to be alone for the first time in 13 years. I'm planning on spending some time relaxing but more importantly organizing and cleaning everything so my life will be easier when they come home. :D

Oh, I am so THERE! lol I'm always tired of housework.

My magic pill is to invite someone over. It helps that my parents come at least 3 times a year (they live in NH)--and we have other visitors, too.

Do your kids help? I'm sorry, I don't recall how many/what ages. I work mine pretty hard--because I like sitting and playing on the computer while they clean up around me. Wish I had had 5 or 6 kids...

I'm so kidding. My children do help alot, but I'm in charge and do most of it. At least they motivate me a bit nowadays, sometimes cleaning w/o being asked, which makes me feel guilty enough to get off my rear.

So, I guess that's my answer--shame and guilt--the great motivators.

My kids help....make a mess! They are almost 3 and 6. Not quite old enough to be of any serious help. But they do manage to make one heck of a mess.

Yes, inviting someone over cures me as well. I'm just in no mood for that either though! LOL

Confession: I watch "How Clean is your House?" It's very motivating. It scares me straight! I always have to go clean something after I watch one of those, I'm terrified of waking up one day and discovering that I'm a filthy clutterbug.

What channel is this on? I think this might be something that would help me. I feel more motivated to clean after being at someone's house that is really dirty and messy. I see where I could end up if I don't get control of myself, and I start doing better.

I'm blaming the weather. Once it warms up a bit, I love to open up all the windows - that gets me in the mood to clean! It's amazing how much housework I get accomplished when the sun is shining and the breeze is airing out the house.

So, my recommendation is that you turn the weather warm and sunny. :)

That is probably true. It is gray and snowing today. So I feel even more BLAH.

Hey, I'm right there with ya. I do think the weather makes a difference. It is cloudy and rainy here. Fridays are my house cleaning days and I'm on the internet. I LOVE a clean house, too. Maybe I need to have some company? Hmmmm.

Although I am a flybaby and try to stick to routines, I am not very good at anything other than dishes and washing either. However, I do seem to be a binge cleaner....sometimes when I am going through an emotional time, PMT, am angry or upset, I will get into housecleaning with a vengeance. So I guess I just wait for another one of those times, and it will all get done.:001_smile:
