I've got a 9yo (4th grade) girl who loves, love, LOVES to read. She has loads of favourite books and it would take a very long time to list them all. Is there anything specific you're looking for?

Boy or girl?

My 10yodd loves to read Inkheart series, Warrior series, Horrible Science, the Hobbit (she's tried but not yet ready to read LOTR), and many more. She always has 2-3 books going at once.

What level is your dc reading? What interests? Does s/he prefer fiction or nonfiction?

Hi,

My son loves Where the Red Fern Grows, The Shakespears Stealer, Adam of the Road, and our favorite of this year was The Shadow Spinner.

He too enjoys the Inkheart series.

Our son (10) likes: anything by Elizabeth Enright; the 'Doctor Doolittle' books by Hugh Lofting; 'Oliver Twist' by Charles Dickens; Roald Dahl books; all the Moomin books by Tove Janson, 'The Little Prince' and a series of Robin Hood adventures (all old Ladybird books). He also enjoys the Dorling Kindersley science encyclopedia and electronics books (although I have found it difficult to find good ones).

I have to recommend Year of the Dog by Grace Lin. My son loved it, even though the main character is a girl!
