I tried to do a search to see if anyone posted about this story and I didn't find anything so I appologize in advance if this is a repeat.

Does anyone remember the story about the accident which killed 5 Taylor University Students? Several weeks after the accident it was discovered that they had misidentified 2 girls. The families have written a book called Mistaken Identity and were on the Today Show talking about it. Tomorrow they are going to interview Whitney who was the girl misidentified. Here is a link to today's portion of the story.... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23824767/

The interviews with the families today were unbelievable. I really felt for both sets of parents and siblings as they went on their rollercoaster ride of grief.

I'll never forget that accident or this story...the accident happened in our area. These two families have handled an unbelievably difficult situation with such grace.

Thanks for posting the link. I knew they had a new book, but I would have never caught it on tv!

Thanks for sharing this! I'm looking forward to reading the book. What a sad, sad story. What a joy for the family whose daughter was found alive! It reminds me how Jesus' followers must have felt when they realized Jesus was alive!

These two families and their daughters are really special. I think that I feel semi-close to this story because we don't live all that far away from where it happened and because my best friend attended Taylor and I visited her a couple of times.

Tonight the story will be on Dateline - 8:00 central.

A similar incident happened when I was in high school. Our neighbors were out of town on a trip and left their daughter. Her friend came over, two boys picked them up to go joy riding, and tragically all were killed except one girl. They though the survivor was my neighbor and, after sitting by her bed for two days in ICU, she awoke and they found out it wasn't their daughter. They had switched jewelry before the accident and that was what created the mistake.

It was one of the most heart wrenching things I have ever witnessed. I haven't followed this story, but can't even imagine their range of emotions.

After tonight, I feel like I know these two families. They really opened their hearts and you saw the hope, hurt, and love that they experienced. I wonder what God has and had planned through all this. They definately showed God's love and grace to everyone around them.

My practical side wants to know who paid for all of the mistakes. First burial, exhumation, time away from job as they sat next to "Laura". I guess that I worry about all that because I know that we are so tight that I'd worry about how we would pay for it all. :001_unsure:

You sound just like me! I always think about the money involved or lost.
