First of all...I hate dusting. It's a chore I tend to "forget" about until the dust is so thick I can't see the original color of the object it is on. :D I've used those Pledge dusters and the other brand of the same kind of thing. They are useless. Even using the dust spray doesn't make them work. It just makes the dust, well...WET! So, anybody have a duster that actually works? Flylady advertised her feather duster and I was skeptical...perhaps I'll look into it again. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Well, almost. My dusters are my boys. Or my dh. Except they usually just use a damp rag.

Dd7 is the duster here. She uses a long duster thingie. She's a shortie so she needs it. I have no idea what you call it.

I use a real ostrich feather duster. Have tried several options, but this is the one I like the best. It's easy to use, so I try to use it more often. I shake it out periodically outside.
My understanding is that Pledge really isn't great for wood. To "nurture" wood, I use lemon oil once or twice a year.

I use the swiffers. Well, actually the dollar store knock-off to save $$, and they work just as well.:)

As much as I try to avoid disposable cleaning supplies, I'm a fan of the Swiffer. I own all kinds of feather, wool and synthetic fiber dusters, too. But the Swiffer gets my vote.

well, as in love as you can get with a duster! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/love017.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)
But really, since I'm allergic to dust I find the fact that I can dust and then throw it in the trash is the best part. I don't like just pushing dust around the room day after day. Dust really clings to the Swiffer, and the frangrance is nice.
I'm not at all wealthy, but I find that this one thing to splurge on is well worth the price.

I have Fly Lady dusters - two different sizes. They work well and don't shed and they really are pretty. My kids like to use them - but they don't get used often enough!

Also the use of child labor for dusting.
My girls are so cute - whenever anyone is coming to visit, they want to "clean the house," which involves dusting. That's the only thing they ever think of. I'm not sure if it's because it's the one thing I never do, or what. They're cute about it though and they even do the ceiling fans with the long-arm Swiffer thingy so it is a good deal for me. I hate dusting.:D

I have a microber mit that I spray with a product called, oddly enough, "Dusting Spray." After I dust, I spray the mit and roll it up to store it; next time I dust, I just put my hand in the mit and go.
I have a lambs' wool duster that I use for things I can't reach, like the lights over the dining table. I hate it when I sit down to eat and there are cobwebs draping down like a bad Trading Spaces design :-/
I also have a little brush that I use to dust the tchotchkes. Happily, I don't have many tchotchkes. :-)
I bought the Swiffer duster thingie, but I never use it.
I also use Fly Lady duster. They are ostrich hair dusters which, supposedly, are the only duster that will attract the dust. I use the duster for hard to reach corners, knick knacks (of which I have few), lamp shades, etc. I dust the furniture with a high quality furniture polish every 2 weeks.
