They are intriguing, but I'm curious if anyone has actually tried them.

I have a set. I've used them. I think they help, but maybe not quite as much as they claim. They seem to work pretty well on loads with regular clothes and small things. When I use them with sheets and similar items, they tend to get caught in them, rendering them useless. I also think they work better with smaller loads. I tend to "stuff" my dryer, which I'm sure doesn't help, lol.

My mil gave me a set. I wish she had spent the money on a big pack of dryer sheets instead. They are useless on our running clothes (nothing like running shorts clining in all the wrong places) and not seem to help much, if at all, with other load.

I use them. As mentioned, they work better if the dryer is not full to capacity and they are not much use for static. But my family noticed how much softer (fluffier?) clothes are now that I am using them. (They mentioned this without knowing the reason for the new softness).

You all are incorrigible! Sounds like you have spring fever as bad as we do. Glad the post brightened your day.

I agree - we have 2 sets and use them for all of our "regular" clothes, but they are not very helpful for a full load of towels or sheets. We do use them 80% of the time, though, and my dh prefers them to fabric sheets.

We use them and have been happy with the results. That being said, we don't use dryer sheets so I can't compare the difference there.
I wrecked a set by keeping them in the drying between loads. It was such a hassle to have them keep rolling off the counter so I figured since they were going to be used in the dryer they may as well make their home there. Well... running a hot dryer with cold plastic balls inside wasn't such a great idea and one of the balls cracked. Now the other has become one of my kids' favourite (and most expensive??) toys. :glare:

I saw a generic set of dryer balls at Walgreen for just a few dollars.
