Alright, I've been out of the house for about 2 days now, & the place smells. I'm on a cleaning rampage. Who's with me?

I'm starting in my bedroom/bathroom, because I never seem to get that far back. See y'all in a little bit for a board break.:D

ETA: The dishes. The dishes smell, not the bathroom. Oh, my. The images I accidentally create!

Poor DH. He's been home this week, helping since the baby's arrival. He's working his tail off, and he's keeping us fed with absolutely scrumptious meals, but he is so. far. behind. on. *everything*.

The wash. The dishes. The general picking up. The cleaning/bathing of the children. The constant reminders to said children that personal hygiene is an ongoing process, not a one-shot deal. The chaos. The noise level. The fact that children will forget what you told them not 30 seconds after you've told them. (He still hasn't clicked that if they don't respond, they didn't hear you. Or they'll claim they didn't. Must remind him that you've *got* to get a response before you can assume they've heard you. LOL.)

SO, he's got the two older at piano lessons. That gives me two hours. I'll have the house, kitchen, and laundry put back in order before he gets home and then perhaps he can carry on until the weekend. I just couldn't cope with the house being in this condition any longer! But I do love him for the effort. And, on the plus side, it's nice to know that I'm actually better at running our home that I normally give myself credit for -- I've been watching him, and the things that now come so easily to me are just swamping him no end. He's not slacking, and he's not doing anything "wrong" -- it's just that this is a challenging gig and he's had no ramping up time, kwim?

ANYway, off to fold and vacuum! See you in 20 min!

Oh, you have such a great attitude! I'll always remember my dh loading the dishwasher the week after ds was born. He hates to do dishes, so this was a real sign of love to me.

I feel like a real slacker now, as I have nothing like a newborn to excuse myself for my messy house. I've just been really lazy this week. Hopefully after we build on a family room, homeschool room, utility room and mud room this spring I will be better able to keep things de-cluttered and organized. I keep things clean, but it's hard to keep things tidy in our tiny house right now.

I did get the dishwasher unloaded/realoaded/run. Got the kitchen counters decluttered and wiped off, sink clean, and dining room/living room picked up. Even cleaned the coffee table (WHAT have they been doing in there?!? LOL!)

Two loads of wash done and put away. Load #3 is drying as I type and Load #4 is done washing, just waiting patiently for its turn on the merry-go-round. One lonely load left to wash, but it can sit a while. At least if I'd like to get dressed tomorrow, I can. :)

Didn't get to vacuum, b/c EmBaby (2yo) didn't go down. BUT, the baby-baby slept, and Smidge (4yo) fell asleep. So there was only one to work around, lie down with (she still didn't fall asleep, but at least neither did I! WOOHOO!), and take to the commode. Repeatedly. Small blessings. (Cute ones, too!)

And now, I'm off to go stare at the baby-baby and wallow in all that sleeping cuteness. How's your cleaning binge going?

Boy, was it hectic. But you know, it would be really sad to give a gift from my heart and be told it wasn't good enough. And what DH has taken on this week is just that - a gift straight from his heart. I've got to love that. :)

Thanks for the encouragement.
