Over the years have collected a lot of different activities, coloring pages and crafts ideas. I'm going to be buying some portable memory storage and am organizing things. For subjects like math and the holidays I found it very easy to create files and organize from there. I'm a little stumped at how I should organize our history pages. We use a 4 year approach and I've reached a block on how I should organize:

My first option using:
The era>the activity (a folder that holds audio book, coloring pages, craft, or activity)

My second option:
The era>the civilization (egyptians, greeks, romans, vikings, frontier)> the activity

What do you think? Or should I try it another way?

I have some stuff that I have printed out and I made folders. I have 16 folders.

Folder set 1 is pre-fall of the Roman Empire and is divided into 4 groups (Old Testament/Middle East) (Egypt) (Greece) and (Rome).

Folder set 2 is Dark ages to pre-Revolution. Again, 4 folders (Dark/Middle Ages) (Renaissance/Reformation) (Exploration/colonization) and (Revolutionary War).

Folder set 3 is pretty much the 1800's and divided into 4 folders (pre-civil war), (civil war), (restoration/expansion) and (Victorian really 1870-1900).

The last folder set is 1900's to today and divided into 4 groups (Turn of Century and WWI) (The 20's through WWII) (Post War through the 80's) and (Current topics basically the '90s to today).

I thought I would just give you an idea of how I break it down. You could really break down the 1800's and 1900's into 10 groups each and do it by decade because there is just so much going on.:001_smile:

So your set up looks like my option 2, but without breaking the activities into further folders?
