I need a reference for a grammar. A Spanish grammar written for speakers of Spanish, not Spanish as a second language.
In French, we have Grévisse, and Bescherelle, which are both worldwide references for French grammar. Is there something similar for Spanish?

Also in another thread I posted about Antidote, a French software that can find errors in French texts (way more than just a spell checker!) Is there a Spanish equivalent?

Those are tools that would be used by native Spanish speakers.

I'm not a *native* speaker, but have several friends who are Costa Rican. I'll e-mail them and find out if they know of a couple of titles, but it may take a couple of days.

Thanks. A couple of days is perfectly fine. This is not an emergency :)

I don't know of anything like that, although it must exist. If you get Word in Spanish, it does check your grammar (kind of, sort of, it's not terribly accurate).

I haven't yet purchased a grammar reference, but anything by Real Academia is a respected resource. Something like http://catalog.lectorum.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?thums=Y&sku=12196 perhaps. I'm also looking at this one: http://www.santillanausa.com/catalog/searchCatalog.php- you may need to type in the name in the search box. (Diccionario panhispánico de dudas)
