I am planning on using BJU Science for my kids this coming fall, but am wondering if I should start with the 2nd or 3rd grade program?

I don't know if the 3rd grade program would be too hard for the 1st grader or if the 2nd grade program would be too light for the 3rd grader. My hope is that 2nd grade would work well for both of them, but if not, we can use 3rd grade & the 1st grader can catch what he can.

Thank you.

It's definately not too hard! We really enjoyed the course and my guys learned a lot.
I bought the student pack (or whatever it's called) only for my older dc, but there is really not much writing at all. Just circling pictures, filling out charts etc.

I did 3rd when it first came out with a 3rd grader and K child, and just had my younger one sit on my lap when we discussed the older one's work. I didn't expect her to do any of the sheets. The 1st and 2nd grade programs are pretty light, and I think you'd be fine with the 3rd grade program unless the topics interest you more in the 2nd grade one.

I'm currently using the 5th grade program with a 5th grader and 2nd grader, and my younger one is doing fine with it as long as I help her with the sheets.
