I know you are sick of me, but the waiting is killing me, its like being pregnant.

What is avg. time after filling out Common App. you hear from any of those colleges?

Filed FAFSA long time ago, have not heard anything and our EFC is low, and grades are good.

I feel like we are doing something wrong.

ACT- done
FAFSA- done
Common APP -done

No bites......

TIA for words of wisdom or BTDT

Depends on the school - ds applied to several - three he has yet to hear anything from (Vanderbilt, Gettysburg, U. of the Pacific) while nine others have already sent aid packages, dorm info, and done everything except roll out a red carpet and turn on searchlights!

I think I'd call a school or two, to find out where they are in the process (what is their timeline?), did they receive items x, y, and z, and if the timing is past due, if there is any news about dd's particular application. The only reason that I suggest this is b/c if something went wrong with the common app, it could jeopardize all her applications and really mess her up.

One thing I have to wonder is if your dd's age has anything to do with the silence. Not saying it would, just wondering.

Hang in there, but maybe take some action as well?

(P.S. One of my dd's friends is applying *only* to Rice and Texas A & M. Neither of those will send out anything until early to mid-April, but that is a known and expected thing. Nevertheless, it's nerve-wracking for her, as most everyone else is hearing or finishing hearing from their schools.)

The wait is killing me, too. One school is supposed to have information up today on their website, the yes or the no. Friends of ours have their "yes" already, but my son's status is still pending. I wonder if the school is entering data alphabetically? Our last name starts with M, their name starts with B. Gah.

So no help, only sympathy.

I sometimes think of age and other times not. She is 16 next mo. I know thats not much of a difference.

If we do phone calls, should I call or her?

I hope it is an alphabet thing , cuz we are at the bottom. We got our ACT late too.
