UGGHH. Dh bought an expensive camera on ebay. New, in box, from a reputable seller (over 100,000 sales and a 99.9% positive rating.) Well, guess what? Camera doesn't work. Doesn't even turn on. Battery is charged, memory card is in, but no juice. Bought another battery, still no juice. He's trying to contact the seller, but we leave for Colorado in a week from today and we really were hoping to have a new camera to take with us.

I'm so worried that we're out the $$$, I'm so worried that the seller won't respond to dh's email (though his email was exceedingly nice and polite) and, well, it just freaks me out to spend this much $$$ on ebay! We've never had any problems with ebay, but then again, I've only bought things like used Hanna Andersson dresses for dd and an occasional dog drafting postcard or dala horse for my collections.

UGGGH....someone please tell me it's going to be all right.......someone please open my throat and toss in a :chillpill: someone please tell me this will all be resolved, because to be honest, I"m doubtful about getting our $$$ back!

Freakin' out here!

breathe....breathe.....breathe....

I bought a scanner on ebay and they sent the wrong one. I needed a large-bed scanner to scan my scrapbook pages. He claimed the one he sent was "better" but I actually wanted the larger one. I sent it back and received a full refund, the only money I was out was the money I spent shipping it back. He offered to pay shipping for shipping it back but I didn't want anything else to delay the process.

You did your research, chose a reputable buyer and so I hope you'll be able to contact them, get your money back and return it to the seller.

If not, Ebay and Pay-Pal should handle the resolution with you two. We've had to do that a couple times and there was never any problem getting the money back.

You bought from a reputable seller with a high number of sellers. He's a business man and will likely handle it just as Amazon or any other business that had sent an item that happened not to work.

Don't freak out. :) It'll be okay...

Dh has bought cameras and parts from ebay a number of times now. (And he's a true camera snob, so, um, he's spent enough to make your stomach turn!) My parents and brother have bought *cars* on ebay. :) Repeatedly. lol... It can work out to buy higher ticket items.

The claims process through Pay Pal takes a bit and you have to stay on top of it so file quickly. Although I would first give the seller a chance to respond. My dh had a problem is an electronics item he purchased on ebay and had to file through pay pal. It was a hassle, but we did get our money back. I am sure you are very irritated, I would be too. Try not to let it soil your vacation though.
