What is Referrals?

What are Referrals? It is listed on the User Control Panel. Does anyone know what it is?

I'd also like to know the answer to this. Who refers you?? How to refer others??? I see nothing in my settings or control panel. Same with public groups.

I have one referal. I don't know why, so I would also like to know!!!:confused:

I answered this in another thread, I think it's the right answer, anyway.

Some forums that use vbulletin (I belong to one) are closed forums. They don't allow just anyone to join up. Some of them are places where people who know each other in real life can talk, that sort of thing. In order for someone new to sign up they must be referred (and vouched for) by an existing member. I think that's why the box is there.

In other words, when signing up people can list you as having referred them to the board.
