You just wish you could take a month off....I can tell it is spring time. I am antsy to take a break and so are my kids. Sometimes I envy the mom who ships her kids off to school, and then i think "how much they miss out on and I am grateful again"...but darn somedays I just want to go the club, play some tennis, and have lunch without feeling guilt that I am missing a day of math and reading....aughhhhh to find the perfect medium......

I'm with you! Tell you what. Let's ship our kids off together. Then the two of us can meet up and do whatever strikes our fancy!

Absolutely! Where do you want to go for starters? I'd love a spa with some kind of pampering involved. Actually lots of that. Massages, lovely fruit delivered on trays, and more massages. Mmmm, lovely!

Yes! Lately I've been saying I'm going to run away. I would LOVE to be by the beach ALONE...I only have to drive 5 minutes and get a hotel, buy new books and have a few weeks off!!!
Unfortunately it's not gonna happen!

But the end is in sight for me, we're on week 29 with school...7 weeks to go...I can make it...I think...:auto:

Oh, do I ever hear you! We won't be finished this year until mid June, at least. My parents are coming out for a visit in May and the week following that, dd goes with her father to visit his grandparents, so there's 2 more weeks of getting nothing done. We only do 4 day weeks, so we go longer (10 months) to make up for it.

Ugh! YES!! Today is definitely one of those days. I just want to get away. I am tired. I am done. I have no one in real life to escape with, even for a moment. :( They're all too busy with assorted school things. Yeah, so much for the flexibility of home schooling. *shrug*

Well I give you all permission to cut school early today, go down to the shops and bring home junk food and dvd's. In fact, I feel so strongly about this, I DARE you all to take tomorrow off and spend the day eating the junk food and watching the dvds. Cooking self saucing puddings requires maths and if you put the subtitles on, they can read them. That takes care of maths, english, home ec, the arts and even a field trip. If you get a medieval movie you can even do history and logic (well it isn't logical to use 14th century fighting techniques in a 12th century movie like they do in Kingdom of Heaven.)
