Still researching algebra textbooks. Is the teacher's guide necessary for Jacob's Elementary Algebra??? Are there answers in the back of student text??

Is the teacher's guide necessary for Jacob's Elementary Algebra??? Are there answers in the back of student text??

Each lesson in the textbook contains four sets of problems. Set I is review problems from previous lessons. Sets II and III contain problems from the current lesson and are essentially identical. Set IV is a challenge problem.

Answers (not worked-out solutions) for Set II are contained in the back of the textbook. The Teacher's Guide contains answers (again, not worked-out solutions) to Sets I, III, and IV.

I really didn't think I needed the teacher's guide for this course, but I found that I did because it had the full answers in it.

I highly recommend getting the Teacher's Guide. I have used it only for the answer key. The answers for the set 2 problems are in the back of the student text, but there are three other sets of problems in each lesson.
