I was wondering why confectioners' sugar disappears after 3-4 minutes when I use it for dusting. Please advise.

It's the moisture -- you know what happens when you stir a few drops of liquid into a bowl of confectioner's sugar?
Make sure the item you're putting it on has cooled completely before you dust with confectioner's sugar, and then be very generous. If it's a really moist item, you'll be better off to wait till shortly before you serve.

Whoa, someone explain this, how do you dust with confectioner's sugar. Wouldn't that just add to the dust???

Okay, okay, do not answer me. I just read "dusting" and that was all I got. I was trying to figure out why someone would dust furniture with sugar.
I am going to bed. Now.

Hmmm. Ever think of changing your name to Amelia Bedelia? :001_smile:
That sounds just like something Amelia would think!
FWIW, I initially thought the same thing. :tongue_smilie:

Thank you for the laugh, Remundamom. :lol:In my subject line I titled the post as a baking question. I should have explained myself more throroughly in the post.
Abbeyej, that makes perfect sense. Thanks for your help.
