Yep, another question.
Book IV, Chapter 12. Am I the only one who is hearing Buddhist philosophy here? I know St Augustine is not Buddhist, but what he is saying in this chapter is sounding Buddhist. Or is this a fault of my fairly ordinary Penguin translation?
I'm talking about all this "do not love the material world" business. Buddhists (as far as I know) stop there, but our worthy saint here is lecturing us to love the creator rather than the creations.
