I have tried several brands of soy yogurt and they were "okay." Silk was my favorite, and I willingly ate it, since I loooove yogurt and I can't have dairy. It probably helps that other than a taste or two I've never been able to eat yogurt.
Recently I found o'Soy yogurt and it is so nice and creamy. It doesn't have any of the typically "soy" texture I've noticed even with the good Soy yogurts.
And then I noticed on the label that even though Milk isn't on the ingredient list, it cautions that the cultures are milk-based. Does anyone know how that works? How much dairy might be in this yogurt?
I am fortunate enough to be able to have small amounts of dairy, but I have to be careful what kind, and how much. It's a behavioral response, and so far I haven't noticed any obvious problems... but I really have to watch these things. Sometimes I see things clearer when my DD is responding to them, but since she can't have Soy either, I can't test it on her. ;)
Do they "grow" the cultures in cream? How does that work?
