thanks

I'm using it now for Algebra I with my oldest, but I don't have any experience with any other upper math course.
We're happy with it. I will say that, personality-wise, the Algebra teacher has far less going than the other teachers we use (for Biology and Spanish) -- but she does her job well and dd is understanding everything, and that's the most important thing.
I am satisfied enough that I have no intention of using anything else for high school, if that helps. I've heard (vague) less-than-ideal things about BJU Geometry and Algebra II from other people (no experience myself), but I am hoping that doing the live classes will help us to avoid those pitfalls (whatever they are -- I've never heard specifics).
Hmmm . . . reading over that, it doesn't look like I helped much!:tongue_smilie:

I have heard opinions on algebra but have not used it.
My dd (#2 child) used geometry. It was adequate, not stellar. Not nearly as good as what I was able to do with ds (#1) and the Heath (Larson, et al) book that is used by Chalkdust. But that would have been overkill for her, and I just didn't have the time last year. She is continuing our algebra sequence with Lial now and I'm happy again.
Ds #1 took Homesat Precalc. It was a colossal waste of time. The textbook is marginal in its explanations and severely lacking in real world application problems, and the teacher on the Homesat class was extremely scatterbrained. Ds #1 has always been a very good math student, but we ended up paying for tutoring, switching pre-calc textbook, and then, finally, having him take PreCalc for dual credit this year at the state university where he plans to enroll in engineering. Now I'm confident that he'll have the necessary basis for further study.
There you have it--we have *loved* their sciences, but the maths have not worked well for us.
