My son is 17 but was going to get his license when he turns 18 this summer. Could he still get on with, say Wal mart for instance, without a license. Or would he need some form of photo ID?
He's waiting until 18 for a license due to a stupid law in our state we are avoiding that drops when he turns 18.

My son has worked at the local branch of the public library for over a year and does not have a driver's license. I can't remember if he needed a photo id....if so, I probably made him a homeschool ID card.

I know WM hires without a license, because my son got hired before he got his. My other kids have all had jobs pre-license too.

I think he will be fine if has one or not(JMO). Ds had to have a work permit though and he was 17.
Ds doesn't have his license yet, but does have a learners.

I have nieces and nephews working without a driver's license. They MAY have a state issued I.D., but not a license.

You don't need a drivers license to work in Virginia.

In Florida, you can get a photo id at the Driver's License place...it is only $3.00. My 10 yr and 13 yr old have them now.

I got a job at the age of sixteen without a driver's license. However, I did have a school ID. I don't remember if I had a state ID at the time or not. Getting a state photo ID would probably be a good idea in general, as it can be substituted for a driver's license any time you just need proof of age and identity (e.g. flying, buying certain medicines, etc.).
