Last year in American Lit, she read another Melville novel when she was supposed to be reading Moby Dick. I gave her the Leather bound American something edition which had three novels. SHe read the first, half of the second and then I realized she wasn't reading Moby Dick. The other novels were also about whaling.

Well she did it again this year. I handed her Paradise Lost by Milton. Somehow she misplaced it and picked up Pilgrim's Progress. She is ADHD but I don't want to oversee her too much since she needs to get used to doing things on her own for college in a year and a half. She is on medications and I don't think we can increase that. IT doesn't help that I am ADHD too though much more mildly. She is severely ADHD.

Which leads me to another strange thing. DD has been taking practice ACTs in preparation for the now 2nd time delayed ACT. SO she took one last week and scored 29 composite. Yesterday she took a second and thought she did really badly. She felt like she wasn't able to concentrate and was spacing out a lot. So what did she score- 28 composite. At least this helped her with her anxiety since if she is doing so well when she thinks she can't concentrate, she should do okay. She just needs a 28 to do a summer program she is interested in.

Congrats on the test scores, that is fantastic! I would just encourage her to write down important things, to do lists, maybe confirm the first few list with you.

Sounds like she's concentrating when she needs to though!
