Literature to teach social sciences???

I am searching for ways to find literature that corresponds with different high school social science topics including economics, sociology, geography, history, etc....

The Story of the World offers great literature ideas for history topics for the younger kids but I was wondering if there is a resource for finding literature for the high school level.

I've never used their materials, but keep looking at them every year.
