I remember corresponding with Beth years ago and even participating in my first online book club of sorts which she and Lauri (? it has been so long that I've forgotten) led. I remember following her posts about her homeschooling efforts and struggles with her two young daughters. She may have even been part of TWTM board family.

Beth's website (http://home.att.net/%7Ebandcparker/) was, and still is, packed with great information that I still return to to use.

For those of you in the know, had Beth been ill? I don't want to sound morbidly curious, but fifty is a young age to depart life on earth. This news today will hang over me like a shadow for quite a while.

I do not know Beth at all, but on the SWR loop this morning someone mentioned their friend, Beth, that died from cancer leaving behind two daughters. I can only assume that they must be the same lady.

I'm so sorry for her family's loss. 50 is way too young to die. :(

Yes, I was on a loop with Beth too. I believe she was battling ovarian cancer. For those who knew her, here is her Caring Bridge page: http://www.caringbridge.org/pa/bethparker/

...there are a lot of us whose lives were touched by Beth. We will miss her. We are keeping her family and friends in our prayers...

Her website was extremely helpful to our homeschool in the first few years and I still check back there for things now and again. I'll be praying for her family. :angelsad2:

Yes, Beth Parker was a remarkable person. I remember her as an early pioneer of classical education-- very inspirational, because she classically educated two adopted daughters with special needs! She lived near us in Pittsburgh, and although I did not know her personally, I enjoyed and learned from her website quite a bit. She will be sadly missed.
