have been obsessing over curriculum!
My 2 daughters have only been homeschooled a very short time.
They are currently in 6th and 9th grades.
Both have not had much history at all! I don't think they really put too much emphasis in it in public school
We currently use Abeka history and we are bored to death! Luckily my older dd is done with geography because it's only one sem. read answer questions, read answer questions!
We also use Abeka Lit for younger child, boring again
Easy Grammar: working well
Jump in for younger dd
Wordsmith for older dd: okay, she writes very well so it's been easy
Abeka science for both. Don't want to use it again
So...I am thinking of starting *Learning Adventures* with both girls now!
We can do it together, it's very affordable. Will cover material neither has done, only have to add in higher writing and science, math for older dd.
The author says you can use it as a highschool history spine and can pretty much use the entire LA program just making it more lengthy etc.. I would add in another highschool writing/vocab program and probably progeny press guides.
So what do you think?

Unless serious revisions occured in the past 7 years, the program barely meets requirements for lower middleschool. Most families use the programs with 3rd-6th graders. http://www.learning-adventures.org/
"Each of the books in the Learning Adventures series will cover skills and concepts for grades 4 through 8, and each will include a year (180 days) of lesson plans for all subjects except math. . ."
Have you looked at My Father's World or TOG or History at Our House or Winter promise?

What grades did you use it for? Or are you judging by the link you provided?

I purchased a used copy to use with my eldest as a gentle intro to hs'ing & he thought it was too babyish for a then 6th grader. IIRC, the program was written for the author's son.
Ask on the Vegsouce boards, as Learning Adventure used to be popular over there back in the day.

When I was checking out LA a couple of years ago, I joined the Yahoo group. There is a ton of information, or was, in that group. You might want to check it out. I am sure you could fine suggestions from people who may have used this for highschool.;)

thanks!
I did join the group and there is A LOT one can do to make it highschool.
My dd has been in public school and has literally had no history that I am aware of, so anything new no matter how "babyish" is still learning IMO
