I was just looking over the high school info at HSLDA and they have the history courses needed as World, American, & Government. How does the WTM sequence translate into this setup?
Thanks

Somewhere towards the back of the WTM book under transcripts or something it's listed as World History I & II, Gov't and something else I think. :)

History: Ancients

History: Medieval - Early Renaissance

etc.

To me that is sufficiently clear. Similar labels were used for the corresponding English courses.

I also produced a document listing all of the books read, texts used, Teaching Company courses watched and outside coursework. This gives a clearer picture of what went into that "History: Ancients" class.

:iagree: We did the same thing here - worked great!

I titled the history courses, which we did in 3 years,
History of the Ancient World
History of the Medieval and Early Modern World, and
History of the Modern World

and the literature courses were called Literature of the same.

In the course description, I listed the texts he read, trying to divide them between the history and lit courses.

He did a 4th year of separate American history and literature.

Had we done it more truly the WTM way, I would make sure the course description clarified that Am history was included in the world history courses.

On our transcript we have:

History, Literature & Philosophy of the Ancient World
(1.5 credits, worldview studies included)

History & Literature of the Medieval World
(1 credit)

History & Literature of the Modern World
(1 credit)

I use these class titles because that's what he's learning. Credits will break down as 1.5 world history, 1.5 literature, .5 philosophy elective. He will probably take a full year of American history with his co-op in 12th grade.
