I tried to PM you.
You should let us. I usually don't even know I have any for days because it's a notice so small in the upper right screen under our "welcome" from the WTM - but they are nice to get.
Anyway......Here's what I had written.
I need to tell you something.
Something you said really bothered me.
Quote, "I will always feel incomplete and less than others because of my lack of education. I would never want to put that on my children. It is really too late in my life to do this, I would have to sacrifice mothering time to pursue an education at this point....."
You did/do homeschool your children. Did you not receive an excellent education yourself with them?
College schmollege.
I had a BSW and worked waiting tables. You'd be surprized how many waiters have them!
I am really smart (compared to your twinkie eating public) when it comes to nutrition and the human body. I learned none of it in school. I know everything I know from my Grandmother who read Adelle Davis and Earl Mindell. And now I read everything I can get my hands on.
When I decided to go back for nursing - I picked up my old anatomy and physiology book, the one I used in college. I began reading at my own pace. When allowed to read what and when I wanted - a whole new world opened before me. I went more indepth on what interested me and less in depth on what did not. I couldn't believe how much I missed out on when I took the class in a crammed 32 weeks (2 semesters in school) compared to 2 years of joyful study on my own.
You are your own professor. Read whatever it is you would have "studied" had you gone to school. You will realize what I am saying is true when you decide to homeschool yourself with "college."
Never for a minute let a degree intimidate you! I almost burned the one from FSU because it is so useless in the real world
