I am feeling pretty silly right about now! We finished up Noeo Chemistry right before the holidays. My original plan was to purchase another set for the second semester. Well, after Christmas, birthdays, holiday travel, etc. let's just say I did not have another couple of hundred laying around.
So we decided to finish out the year using nature study as our science. I did a little research on Charlotte Mason and discovered her love of outside time for children. Day 1 I bundled them up and sent them outside with their notebooks fully expecting my sweet dds to play and ignore the notebooks. But I was wrong. They loved it and begged for more!! (This is not to say they normally don't play outside, we usually waited until after school time. Now we do both.)
Now I schedule in at least an hour in the afternoon, right after lunch, for them to do their nature study/outside play time. I have much needed quiet time. They have their energy used up and are ready to finish what is left. Why am I so dense that I didn't think of this before?!? :eek:
