View Full Version : Is anyone else just hanging out and taking it easy today?

My daughter and I aren't really doing anything today. It is kind of nice for a change. We are trying to get the laundry caught up since it has been a total disaster basically since I let her take over doing it. Anyway ... other than that we aren't doing much. Did I mention that she walked into a rather large rock about a week ago and possibly broke at least one toe (maybe even more or even her actual foot)? I am having her wear her air-cast from her past injury of tearing a ligament in her ankle while she was trying to stand up. :001_huh:

We're just hanging here. Gonna grill burgers for dinner (less dishes to wash).
DH is out in the garage, DD and I are doing chores and gluing ourselves to the puters. The Littles are roaming, playing with flashlights upstairs in the hallway with the lights off.
Is she keeping her foot propped up when she's resting?

Yep. DH is doing a 12-hr ER shift today, so I've washed a few loads of clothes and am sitting on the couch supervising the kids working their tails off (just kidding). DH will get home about 8:30 tonight. Just in time to make me another sno-cone before I go to bed.
It's cold here. I think we'll have hot chocolate with Peeps for supper. (I'm meeelting!)
Dd (3.5) had a tummy bug last night...ALL night...so she and I slept very little. So I kept her home this morning, and we napped. And the kids watched a video this afternoon, and I napped. I'll probably look for an early bedtime too. *yawn* But I think it was just a 24 hour thing, she seems recovered now. But I really hated missing Easter Sunday festivities at my church.

Yes, she is.

It was a very low key holiday for us. And I am totally fine with that!

Yes. I got a lot of relaxing and knitting done today. Yesterday was busy so it was nice to just sit today.

Dear Jami, I'm sorry to hear that your daughter was sick. I hope it is a 24-hour bug, and that no one else gets it. Our church service was wonderful this morning. Since we don't have family in town anymore, it was just a quiet day at home for us. I made an early Easter dinner, and we will have angel food cake with strawberries soon for dessert...I can't wait.

We had our big dinner last night as dh had to work today. We did two different church things today and then I took a nap! The children made a picnic this evening (in two feet of snow...) and I just wrapped up packages to send to the big girls. Oh, and I did a couple of loads of laundry, but that's a given here. No one has lambed today, and with Easter so early this year, no one is calving yet! I'm listening to ice slide off the roof...

After doing the Easter basket thing this morning we had a nice brunch and did some devotions. This afternoon we colored Easter Eggs, and then went out for dinner (no mess, yay!). When we came home we all snuggled up in the living room and watched The Bee Movie. Now it's time to get everyone to bed...we've had a nice relaxing day here! :001_smile:

We have no family here, so we came home from church and crashed! DD 15 handled most of the Easter dinner and the Resurrection Egg Hunt for the youngers. DH was in bed with a tummy thing, so it was a good thing he had none of his usual Sunday orchestra rehearsals. Lay on the sofa and watched our favorite Easter movie - the Miracle Maker. Good stuff!

I wish we were!
We don't get to take things easy again until Pesach.... so you guys had better rest extra for me, okay?

DD1 did a little Easter egg hunt around the house. Other than that, lots of relaxing. We've been busy around here the last several days, so it's been nice. When DD2 napped, I took off to the gym for a few hours while DH watched the kids. (VERY quiet at the gym, lots of room to myself!) Lots of phone calls to family -- that's about it! Very low-key day to end Spring Break for DH.

Oh yeah. We had a small indoor egg hunt for dd (fyi: if the dye on the egg is the least bit wet, it will stain a light colored chaise lounge.) I made lunch and we just flopped on the couch and watched movies on ABCFam channel.

We didn't have any big celebrations here, either. We went to church, came home, watched an Easter movie then we had our Easter meal. It was very quiet. I like quiet. :)
