New York History?

I read that I have to include New York history in our plans for Ds (10th grade next year).

What spine do you recommend?

You definitely want to watch the 7-episode series "New York" by Ric Burns (Ken Burns' brother)! It has 600 minutes of history on it. The whole state's not covered, but much of New York City's early history also applies to the rest of the state.
