What happens if there is a major snowstorm in your area when there was a SAT or ACT scheduled and the government buildings including the schools are closed? OUr area is getting more snow tonight and expecting major snow Friday night.

This happened to my son several years ago with the SAT. They rescheduled the test for a few weeks later. Fortunately, he was available for the make-up date with minimal rescheduling of other stuff.

I was wondering if everyone made up on the same day or just how that was handled.

I was able to find a copy of the letter my son received from the College Board at the time... His test was actually canceled due to a power outage at the high school, not bad weather!
At the testing site, the teachers sent the kids home and told them that the College Board would contact them about a makeup. A few days later, he received an official letter from College Board stating that a special makeup test had been arranged on a Saturday morning three weeks after the original date.
There was a note that if the makeup date caused scheduling problems, you could contact the CB and arrange to transfer your test date to any of their regularly scheduled future test dates (no additional cost).

College Board will list test center closings (http://sat.collegeboard.com/register/sat-test-center-closings).
