I was doing a search on yahoo about a medication and clicked on a link and ended up with an X rated pop-up. It was a very hostile site that was very hard to close and then it tried to download something to my computer. My computer locked up and then I had to shut it down entirely and then run a virus scan, adaware and spybot.

I just wanted to point out that you can get these kinds of things on your computer without even trying. The search I was doing was in no way what-so-ever related to anything sexual. This is the first time that it has ever happened to me and I am not sure that I ever would have believed that this could happen if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. I am still a bit outraged.

That stinks. I've always use google, and while I didn't have X rated pop-ups, I did have a totally different site open, than what was described in the google search results for the link I chose. I noticed when I was Luckily able to click back out of it, that the link I had chosen had a "weird" look to it, compared to other "normal" looking links, and I now look at the links before choosing a search result. If it looks "off" to me, even if it's on the first page of results, I AIN'T gonna click it. HTH for future reference. And sorry folks, I have no description of the "offness" of said link, I just know what looks "right" and what doesn't, and now I know that P*rn sites will use ANY normal everyday line to suck people into their sites via search engines.
