I've been stressing out all week about hosting Easter. Will I have enough food? Will everyone like it? What can I do to keep young guests from breaking all of my kids's toys? Then I was worried because we were going to have anywhere from 12-20 people. We planned for 12 so I was scrambling to find seating for everyone.
Well, DH woke up with the flu today (fever, cough, aches, chills, etc.) so I guess we're not hosting Easter here afterall. My mil said not to worry about it (bless her!) and that she would have dinner over at her house. She said that the kids and I could come over. Well this evening I'm starting to ache all over and have a bad sore throat. I doubt we'll be able to go tomorrow either.
I feel bad because mil was going to make the turkey but I was handling everything else (side dishes, appetizers, dessert and drinks). She says she'll just pick up a few things at the store tomorrow morning.
I guess we'll be spending Easter in our pjs. At least it should be a nice, relaxing day. What am I going to do with all of those sweet potatoes! I'm the only one in the family who likes them. My oldest dd also filled a bunch of plastic eggs with candy and little toys for our guests to have an egg hunt. I think we'll be eating Easter candy for weeks now :001_smile:
