I know it's late, but anybody have any suggestions? Something like a cave cake, cut part away, and inside is... Any ideas?
Empty????
No seriously I think I have a meringue (sp?) recipe. I'll go look it up. There's a little story that goes with it and you bake it the night before.
This is a great way to spend time with your little ones. Have a wonderful Easter!

A friend of mine e-mailed this to me this week. I have not tried it yet but we may try it tomorrow afternoon.
EASTER RESURRECTION ROLLS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1 pkg. Crescent rolls
Melted butter
Large marshmallows
Cinnamon
Sugar
Give each child a triangle of crescent rolls.
The crescent roll represents the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in.
Give each child a marshmallow.
This represents Jesus and His purity.
Have the child dip the marshmallow in melted butter.
This represents the oils of embalming.
Then dip the buttered marshmallow in the cinnamon and sugar.
This represents the spices used to anoint the body.
Then wrap up the coated marshmallow TIGHTLY in the crescent roll (not like a typical crescent roll-upý.but bring the sides up & seal the marshmallow inside)
This represents the wrapping of Jesus' body after death.
Place in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 mins.
The oven represents the tomb. Pretend like it was three days!
When the rolls have cooled slightly, the children can open their rolls (cloth) and discover that Jesus is no longer there, HE IS RISEN!
The marshmallow melts and the crescent roll is puffed up, but empty.

I have those in the oven right now. We'll see what they look like in the morning!
