Has anyone used the Saxon Teacher Cd-Roms? (not the DIVE cds) What did you think of them? Were they better than the DIVE cds?
Thank you!

I have not used them, but have read in other reviews that they are a glorified solutions manual with little instruction. You can check out Art Reed's newsletters for his reviews. http://homeschoolwithsaxon.com/newsletterpage-2008-all.php#0408

It is my understanding that the Dive CDs teach the concepts for each lesson but not the exact problems that are being assigned.
The teachers CD is supposed to show you how to work every problem. I thought the teachers CD is geared towards teacher (aka parent) and the Dive CD is for children and parents who do not teach the lesson and just let the child watch the Dive cd.

and Art Reid's DVDs. I have never seen the DIVE materials. Saxon teacher is a visual and verbal demonstration straight out of the book. It works well for us because DD is an auditory learner (not so much visual), so reading the book doesn't solidify the concept as well as hearing it. Art Reid's DVD's, on the other hand, teach the concept for that same Saxon lesson, but use different examples. He also often teaches things in greater detail and clarity. We use both (cuz momma is math challenged!) :001_smile: Hope that helps, e-mail me privately if you want more info.
Blessings,
