New Syllabus Math, straight to algebra with Jacobs or other suggestions?
Worked solutions available would be very helpful.
Trying to decide which way to go...

thanks! Anne

NEM is supposed to be a bit more challenging than NSM. NEM has solutions for the first two books - NSM has no solutions.

My dd finished 6B in April last year. I had her do a one month free trial of aleks pre-algebra, but she didn't like it. I also had her work through Math Smart Junior (copies available on amazon for $0.01 + $3.99 shipping) over the summer.

She is doing well in Jacobs now, but she thought it was very intimidating at first and asked to try something else. Since I had just gotten an email about Kinetic Books Algebra and it was still available as a free download, she started with that. Now she is doing both programs. They are both complete programs and are excellent. My dd likes switching back and forth between the programs at the end of each chapter.

Just so you know, neither one has solutions, but both have an answer key. Many of the interactive problems in Kinetic Books will step your child through the solution with progressive hints rather than just giving the answer.
