Any Great Homeschool Groups in GA (Cobb County area, West Cobb)

I was just wondering if there are any great groups out there that people can share about. I am having trouble finding anything in this area. It is the Kennesaw/Acworth area.

Are you looking for secular, christian, classes, etc. We live in West Cobb and if you tell me what you are looking for, I might be able to help some :)

Ditto - what are you looking for? I know of several class-type programs, both Christian and secular, and a few park-day type groups.

(What I want and haven't found is a homeschool moms' night out group, and a let's-look-at-each-other's-curriculum group. :) )

We have just started a group for homeschool kids at the Mable House in Mableton. http://www.mablehouse.org/tl_files/arts-center/documents/classes%20winter%20and%20spring%202010.pdf scroll down until you get to the Homeschool page. We have about 35 people enrolled now and we are just in our first year! We are starting to add more social outings all the time too. Please come check us out.

Thank you very much for your replies! Well, I know my life is too busy when I completely forgot that I had even posted a thread on this board a few days ago. I just now remembered! :001_huh:

I would prefer a Christian group if there is a great one around. Also, I would be interested in something that does do a park day or some type of fun activity for the kids now and then.

I am not sure about the Mableton group, but thanks so much for letting me know about it. I am really wanting to find something in the Kennesaw or possibly Acworth area.

Many of our 23 families come from the Kennesaw area and are involved in a variety of homeschool groups.

We model our curriculum after Wise - Bauer's The Well Trained Mind and use Shirley Grammar.
