Eek. You probably could... but in my experience, it scratches things like ultra-fine sandpaper. I wouldn't want to risk it.
Maybe someone who has tried it can tell you if it causes a problem.

We use magic erasers for our board erasers and don't notice any problem. I would suggest, as I"m sure they do, test in an inconspicuous patch.:001_smile:
An alternative we use when we don't have a magic eraser is alcohol in a spray bottle and a cloth. It cleans the board very nicely but the odor is quite overpowering. That's why we prefer the magic eraser. One thing you can't do: use the magic eraser and the alcohol. It makes an awful, smeary mess. Blech!

Cheap vodka is the best cleans like nothing else. I do not drink for many reasons and in my ignorance used my dh bottle of grey goose for this purpose. He gently asked me to confer with him prior to touching any of the liqour again if it is to be used for cleaning . It really works beautifully though.

You kill me!
Plain rubbing alcohol takes off even sharpie markers. Our gets sparkly white when I use it.

They sell white board cleaner at wal-mart for $3. It's just alcohol.
